You know, the original was so good that having a sequel just ruins it. I began the story (and of course, read the ending), but it doesn't change enough from the original story to make it better. It's like a parody of the orginal.
This is a good book. I thought the first half was too brooding, but it got more positive in the second half when things got moving faster and hope finally became apparent.
Tense and exciting rematch between Rusty Sabich and Tommy Molto, 20 years after the events of Turow's PRESUMED INNOCENT (which, cleverly, were not detailed in this story). Nor was the surprise ending of this book given away ahead of time, yet upon hearing it, I knew it fit all the facts. A well-written, fast-paced story expertly narrated by Edward Hermann and Orlagh Cassidy.
Great book. I didn't want to put it down
only a judge would think that way!!
Slow to start but becomes a good, intriguing story.
Gripping and interesting. Couldn't stop listening. The ending was a surprise; I had expected someone else to be the guilty party. Great listen!
This book sat on my shelf for some time. Finally decided to listen to it. Man, I am glad I did! There are lots of twists and turns. It was exciting and made me want to learn what was next.
Brilliant work.
Brilliant work.
While the story was pretty interesting, it read to me more like a soap opera. The reader needs to be aware right off that this book focuses on the characters and not on the crime and/or solving the crime, so, if you're looking more for a novel, this will be your book. If you're looking for a crime or police procedural book, pass this one up.
