I wouldn't say this is Paterson's best work, but it kept me entertained enough. I did enjoy the backstories of the various characters living in the Inn. No juicy twists to speak of, just a saga with a suspenseful tone.
At this point before my rating the rating stands at 1.8! wow! very low rating for Patterson
So here's the thing, this is a hard one to rate or review
1. storyline is not very good
2. tiresome of the references to the dead wife
3. ex-ranger with PTSD goes berserk too many times
4. The Inn is the boarding house where they all live and each have their own story
5. too many characters
6. too many pages of just filler that can be skipped
7. not a thriller, not a mystery
8. another drug story with heartless dealer
9. one romance pops up, not necessary
10. boring, slow paced, took me 1/2 the book to keep trudging along but I did, I mainly wanted to know why he was kicked off the police force thought that part of the story not as interesting as I thought it might be
so I debated between the 2* or 3* and I'm giving it a 2* rating---just not that good book that Patterson writes so I think Fox wrote this one and I'm not a big fan of her books
