A delightful book for book lovers with occasional gruesome moments (Blood is in the title after all) and lots of magic. Family secrets make it unclear which characters are trustworthy. Excellent world building, realistic characters, and a hint of romance. I was hooked right away, felt like it slowed in the middle, but the ending was worth it.
