You can never be to old to enjoy a kid's book. This book targets children from ages 8 to 11. I was 33 when I read it and still enjoyed it. But then my wife has repeatedly mentioned that I'm just a big kid. Anyway, I was able to finish the book in two evenings using only the time between when the kids go to bed and when I fall asleep.

The book covers all of the most interesting major events. Most are paraphrased enough to keep the attention of younger readers. The trip preparation, meeting native tribes, new animals and plants are all covered. A handy map is also included which shows the explorers path with modern day state lines for reference. I found it to be a good quick orientation to the entire journey. Most adults will want a little more detail. Most kids will find it to be the correct level of detail.

I heartily recommend this book for any child who can read at or above the third grade level. If you have any interest or curiosity about Lewis and Clark, you can't be too old to read this book.
