Very good, easy to read book. It amazes me that some people continue to deny that global warming is a real problem in the face of so much factual evidence. No matter what you think of Gore, the topic is worth learning about. There are small segments mixed in the book about Gore himself - his childhood, family, etc. You could skip them, but it gives insight into Gore and how he developed his values and concerns about the environment. The book concludes with a section about how you can make a difference in your own home and life.
Definitely worth a read - or watch the movie, which has 99% of the same information (some of it word for word).

Let me first say that I'm still walking the fence on the global warming issue. But I did feel that the book makes a compelling argument toward the Save our Planet side. This book has inspired me to take responsibility for myself and my actions, because my view on global warming has now become "Whether or not global warming is fact, I will keep my contribution to a minimum." Isn't that only fair to our planet?

If you haven't read this, you should. It is presented in a very readable style. There are loads of interesting pictures in this book, too. The memoir parts about Gore's life are terrific!

Smart, well written, and informative book that should be life changing for many people. Gore should be regarded as an environmental hero - he presents, with alarming clarity and conclusiveness and with humor, too that the fact of global warming is not in question and that its consequences for the world we live in will be disastrous if left unchecked.
