I had really high expectations for this book, it sounded and looked as if it would be interesting. But for me it was lacking the ability to hold my attention for more than a few pages at a time. Just finishing a chapter took hours because my mind would constantly wander to other things instead of staying focused on whatever was happening with the book. The pace of the story was a slow one, so I felt, and the interactions of the characters and their conversations were just dull. Though at one point I thought it would turn around for the better, only it didn't. The more I continued to force myself to read the more my interest in the book lowered.

Also, I think its one of those series where you just have to read in order to fully appreciate it. Probably if you are already a fan of this series you'll enjoy it more than I did.

Loved it! Durian's been one of my favorite characters from the very beginning. Can't wait for Iskander's story & I have my fingers crossed that Kynan gets his own book, too!

I highly recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because I felt there could have been just a touch more development of the relationship between Durian & Gray and there were a few loose ends at the end of the story--but maybe those will be explained in the next installment. Can't wait!!
