This is a book of Michel's self discovery. The main theme being: man's sense of morality towards society, family, and himself. It is a short book but Gide writing is very beautiful and needs to be read slowly. At the end, the book leaves you with a few questions, "Who am I?" and "Where am I going?" Although, the subject matter is disturbing at times, I highly recommend reading this novel.
