I love all of Nora Roberts books, as herself, and as J.D. Robb. These futuristic thrillers add a new spin to the thriller theme. Great read.

I must admit that this is my favorite series in years! All the characters are memorable and the main ones are all drawn clearly so that their voices are unique. If you haven't read the first 16, please do yourself a favor and start with the first book. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent!! Fun reading!!
Another great book in this great series!
Very good. Finding that I enjoy her writing.
Mystery, Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her Aide Peabody. the interaction of the main characters and their development is great.
Left me thinking as only Nora Roberts can do
Another Lt. Eve Dallas story just as exiting as all the other ones I have read. The series of books is all great, I don't really have a favorite.
This is the 17th book in the slightly futuristic series of Lt. Eve Dallas of the NYPD. Dallas scrambles to find a serial killer whose murders are staged to imitate those of previous famous serial killers.
If you have liked other books of this series, you will like this one.

Eve is at her best solving this mystery; the interaction between Eve and Rourke is complex and interesting and their friends and Eve's fellow cops provide a nice depth to the story.
Another excellent book by the master of the "who dunits". Eve is at her peak and Peabody is coming along quite nicely as they work to solve the mimic of historic murderers. Kept me guessing until the end(which is what I like). Roark and McNabb are there to help them out.

In this police procedural, Lt. Eve Dallas is faced with a serial killer that likes to copycat the famous serial killers of the past - and leaves notes at the scene addressed to her. As her team delves into the mind of this maniac, Eve is faced with nightmares of her own as memories of her mother surface for the first time.
The only thing that disappointed me was realizing that the cover art gave away the killer, but since I didn't pay attention to it, I didn't realize it ahead of time.
I enjoyed the scenes with Peabody as she prepared for her detective's exam and especially her final scene. The scene between Eve and Baxter about Trueheart is great as well, and I continue to love the way all the relationships between the other characters evolve especially those with Eve. (And it was VERY fun to see something Roarke was NOT good at, for once!)

I love powerful Lt. Eve Dallas and how the complex New York City crimes are solved. If you don't wanna bite her husband, don't read these books! Nora Robert's best writing is as JD Robb in this "In Death" series of some 30+ stories to date. I collect all of the JD Robb books, but skip the Roberts, whose stories are not as tight as those about Lt. Eve Dallas - ass kicker! If the future of New York City is like this, I fear these futuristic killers who are sneaky and complex.
Another great story. . I've read all up to this one. . . and decided to review it. . . .Robb really gets her characters to come alive, makes you want to know them ! All the dialogue is so right on,and pulls you in. Robb is so complete with details and all the references to the "future" things ( i want an Auto Chef !) My suggestion. . .Use PBS to read this series from the beginnig.. .
Very suspenseful, loved it
Very good. J.D. Robb holds you to the end.

Nora Roberts is the author of ths book, writing under her pseudonym J. D. Robb. The story takes place in 2059, and Lieutenant Eve Dallas is after a serial killer who plans to mimic the most infamous murderers of all time, starting with Jack the Ripper...
I love these stories, a little mystery and sexy spice.

another in the J.D. Robb futuristic mysteries. Consistently well-written and very interesting series to get into. Read Naked in Death the first book in the series first.
Another excellent "In Death" story....and that Roarke..mmmm-mmmm, to die for
Love, Love, Love this series.
A series of books written by Nora Roberts under the pen name of JD Robb. The year is 2059 and Eve Dallas, police officer is trying to find a Jack the Ripper type serial murderer. I really enjoyed this book, it is exciting and fun with the futuristic twists
The "New York Times" #1 bestselling police thriller series featuring futuristic cop Eve Dallas continues in this brand-new, first-time-in-print novel--the 17th title in the In Death series. Original.
Someone is recreating some of the great unsolved murders in history, and it is up to Eve Dallas and her handsome billionaire husband Roarke to find out who and stop him.
JD Robb is Nora Roberts' mystery pen name. Her characters have depth, and the story is compelling.
Eve realizes that the killer stalking the streets of New York City isn't a run-of-the-mill serial murderer.
The copycat executions are imitating the methods and victim choices of an ominous list of notorious serial killers, beginning with Jack the Ripper.
And when the killer leaves a distinctive note at the crime scene, it's clear that he's targeting Eve personally--a fact that worries Roarke, Eve's shrewd husband.
Assisted by her aide, Peabody, Eve compiles a list of suspects that includes several high-profile possibilities.
Their very prominence, however, complicates the investigation, for they have the power and influence to make the search difficult.
All of the suspects are reluctant to cooperate but one of them is playing with Eve like a cat with a mouse by tempting her with crime scene notes and challenging her to find him.
Can Eve stop him before he slaughters again? Or will his next victim be Eve herself?

Another great Lt. Eve Dallas story.
Police Lt. Eve Dallas is on the trail of a serial killer in New York City. The killer is imitating famous killers throughout history...starting with Jack the Ripper. On the body of his latest victim, he has left a note for Eve, taunting her with the murders. But the note leads Eve and Peabody to a list of high profile suspects. None of them will co-operate with the police investigation. Eve has to find the murderer before he strikes again.
Another great police procedural. The killer imitates Jack the Ripper, the Boston Strangler and Ted Bundy. The series moves forward with Eve learning a little more about Eve's past and Peabody takes her Detectives Exam. There is also a funny scene with Eve and Roarke attending their first cookout. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Author Robb, a.k.a. Roberts, doesn't miss a beat in this police procedural thriller. The futuristic setting is rich with imaginative details; the cast of supporting characters offers an intriguing variety, while Eve and Roarke's relationship is layered with emotional intimacy and spiced with sex. Whether you're a faithful follower or new to the series, you won't be disappointed in the edge-of-the-seat suspense in Imitation In Death. Don't miss this one.

As always, J.D. Robb's Death books never fail to please. I am keeping the entire set, but bought this duplicate copy up in error. Enjoy!
This character ensemble is great. Nora Roberts proves she can write thrillers as well as romance.

#17 in the series - so there's a bit of thematic repetition but that doesn't take away from the enjoyment. It's a good read. The give/take of the relationships, the humour, and the fast pace are all here.
J.D. Robb can do no wrong
Fast moving. Hold your interest.
Another great Robb book. A man impersonating the greatest mass murderers of all times leaves invitations for Lt. Eve Dallas to catch him, if she can.
great book one OF THE BOOKS IN J.D. ROBBS IN DEATH SERIES
I love all of these books. Set in 2050's but is not really futuristic. Highly recommend.
If you don't care for Nora Roberts BUT love Mystery/Dark Thrillers with a side of romance and a dash of comedy - then I think you'll love J.D. Robb's ... In Death series written by Nora Roberts alter ego.
I won't go into the details of the books but will tell you this: Superb character development, continuity of the story line (which means you really need to read the books in order although they can stand alone) is top notch, the relationships that are webbed and weaved together throughout each page are phenomenal and let's the reader 'really' get to know the characters.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas becomes entangled in the deadly mind game of a copycat killer...
Anyone who enjoys JD Robb characters "Eve and Roarke" will enjoy this book.
Futuristic Jack-the Ripper.
I didn't finish this book. I find I'm getting really tired of Roberts. She doesn't seem to have any new ideas, so she just makes her characters the richest, the most powerful, the most famous, the smartest, etc. I find it impossible to believe that one person is the richest man in the world, runs a huge multi-national company, knows all his employees personally, knows how to pick locks, can crack any safe or any computer system in no time at all, etc., etc., etc.--so that he knows how to do whatever it is his wife needs done AND he can drop everything to help her at any time--Roberts strangles my suspension of disbelief.
Gritty, fast-paced, well plotted, tight. Typical Robb, futuristic.
