I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I did not read it to find out more about the "Illuminati" but to read a fiction thriller.
What I came away with is a scenario of what could happen to freedom when we allow the media, government, social and political groups to shape our morals and our convictions.
It is always said, "History repeats itself." and this book shows situations that could happen with society's moral decay so personally I found most of it believable.
There were quite a few characters to keep up with but I didn't feel that it detracted from the story.
It also is an example of a good fiction book can be written without curse words and sex scenes. (If you're anti-Christian, you'll probably hate it!!)

Enjoyed the book. Part of the time I felt like the story was taken from the newspapers of 2009, even tho Larry Burkett wrote it in 1991. Good story made one think if there is more truth to the book than fiction. The story is about a group of people using their supernatural powers to take over the world's economic system. Christians try to band together to prevent to takeover but are rounded up and put into camps. Read the book to find out how the evil takeover is stoped.

This was a good read. Moves fast. Lots of action. Really makes you think about political events in a new way.

What an exciting thriller! The weird thing about this book is that I read it when it first came out and I loved it then. However, because I loved it so much, I passed it around for others to enjoy, and it never came home. I didn't think about it much over the years, but after seeing the title again, was drawn to obtain it and read it once again. It was just as thrilling as it was the first time. It was also an encouragement as we go through the struggles of everyday life as Christians, to see how bad it not only COULD be, but one day WILL be! ...but you don't have to be here. :)

Although this is a novel, the plot seems to reflect a lot of what is going on in our government today. Recession, money supply, etc. Interesting read.

A little slow in the beginning, but worth the wait. It's a great story and well written.
"...a futuristic novel worth reading."
This book started out as a seemingly light-weight apocalyptic novel and ended with the mind-blowing realization that we ARE HERE NOW!
Police state with total access to our business and personal lives is now, not "someday".
I quote the book "I guess none of us really believed something like this could happen - certainly not here in America. But we're no different from the German people before Hitler or the Russians before Lenin. Nobody really believes it can happen to them.
We became so attached to our things that we did not notice , or didn't care when we began to give up our freedoms to keep those things.
We kill unborn children because they are an economic inconvenience, our kids take drugs so that they won't have to face the realities of life without purpose, our politicans care more about getting elected than they do about the country" - end quote
Sound familiar? It should!!
Highly reccommended to anyone wanting a high quality read that makes them think.

Will malevolent powers use the world's financial systems to bring the planet to its knees?
The year is 2001 and the world is on the brink of economic collapse as the Illuminati, a deadly secret organization, succeeds in placing one of their people in the office of the presidency of the United states, gaining control of world events.
With their plan set in motion, they move closer to complete success --controlling the world's finances -- and the Data Net system is born. Not only does Data Net give the Illuminati power to single out a group of people and cut off their money, fuel, and food supplies, but it enables them to track a person's every move throught the attempted use of their Data Net card placing the public at the mercy of this secret society.

Holy cow. This book was bad. Far from it being about the Illuminati as a society, which is only touched upon, it's about, in the long run, accepting Christ as your savior. And the writing is terrible.
