A historical novel of World War I in East Africa, where neighbor turned against neighbor and of the disruption in the lives of the soldiers and their families. There is a lot to learn of the history of the time and the battles in the colonies, which I did not know. It is humorous at times and the characters are unforgettable.
A Booker Prize finalist about World War 1.
