There were millions of people without electricity in the Houston and Coastal areas near Galveston. Quite a few homes are simply gone. I had requests for my books that I never got to because I lost electricity for 14 days. If someone seemingly disappeared and you are wondering what happened. It was Ike. There will be a long recovery process. They are still searching for people. 350 people are on the missing list. Please keep requesting books. Just realize that some requests will simply be ignored because other things have suddenly become more important.

Peace,

Dennis

I second that.  We got our mandatory evacuation orders for Ike when I was due to mail out two books to a single person.  Fortunately, I was able to PM her before I left and explain the situation.  She was so nice and suggested that I mark the books "mailed" so that I could guarantee the credits, and said no hurry--just mail them whenever things are settled again.  After we returned home (to a house still standing), it was still another week before we got electricity and postal service, and before I could go back to work.  I did get the books out eventually, but more importantly it was nice to have the concern of someone I don't even know.
