This young adult novel is much different than Howey's SF work on Wool and is a very fast read. A coming of age story set in the teeth of a hurricane, my only criticism is the unrealistic manner in which the characters seem oblivious to the approaching storm. Recommended.

Great story about a senior in high school during a hurricane, all told with a wonderful voice. Very charming without being sweet and not at all cruel.

And the best description of life during/after a hurricane - I was in NC for Hurricane Hugo, which unexpectedly raged inland and still remember the twisted roots of fallen (and very massive) oak tree in our backyard and his descriptions ring true. Definitely recommend it.
