Savanna lost her husband on national T.V. to terrorists killing him. She's lived in agony ever since, not trusting, living in fairy tale romances, and closing herself off from relationships. Most of her friends are military and this book combines different teams from other books which I have not read but didn't take away from the story. Her thief of a brother-in-law, whom she has only met once, unwittingly endangers her life and her friends step in to protect her bringing with them their contacts of elite security retired Delta guys. Surveilling to see shy Savanna's life is in danger she's paired with Griffin who is as haunted as Savanna is. Instant attraction to each other, which surprises them both, has them scrambling to wonder if they will ever be able to be in a relationship due to the emotional baggage they carry and will Savanna ever let go of her deceased husband and will Griffin ever trust? While exploring that, the danger, intrigue, and threats on her life have the entire team trying to keep her safe and eliminate the threats to national security.
