Great story! Mr McDermott keeps the reader glued to the book, wanting to know what will happen next! An interesting premise regarding Atlantis and it's possible survivors. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast paced thriller.

Loved it!
The story reads great. This is like a cross between Indiana Jones and Michael Crichton. Realistic, historical, action-filled. The characters are likable and though a lot get killed off, you aren't crying profusely throughout. You care, but not to an extreme.
If you consider his other books in the series though, be warned. They read like cult-classics. Highly predictable, no real surprise endings per se. The first book keeps you on the edge of your seat far better than his other ones.

I must confess I read this book after having read #3 by McDermott. This book is full of interesting historical/archeological facts, which enhance both its credibility and its interest-factor. A great, fun read.

This 1st book in the series was so good and interesting, i'm on Bk.8 now and can't wait to read the rest of this series. If you're looking for a fantastic read, try Andy McDermott's Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase series. She's an archaeologist he's her bodyguard in the first book, later they become man and wife, sorry if this is a spoiler, but the action never ends with each book! love, love, love the series....

This is my first time to read Andy McDermott. I enjoyed this book enough to want to read more in this series.

Not very interesting. Cardboard characters, cliche villain, one action set piece after another, reads like a shallow summer movie thriller. I was hoping for more.
