The protagonist is an alien, who has never been on Earth, sent to impersonate a human. He winds up finding understanding the human race and our quirks more interesting that the mission he was sent to accomplish.

There are a couple of predictable themes when a non-human falls in love with a human and the possibility of a not-so-happy ending.

I enjoyed chuckling while reading Mr. Haig's humorous interpretation of the daily life we humans have on Earth.
