This is the follow-up to To Catch an Heiress & I enjoyed it almost as much! Quinn allows her characters such a great sense of humor, even though they deal with serious situations, too. All in all - a great read.

Wonderful, funny, side characters to love, another great story by Julia Quinn. She is an auto buy for me because Ms. Quinn writes stories with a good mix of sweet romance and a dash of passion. It always makes my heart feel warm.

This is romantic fluff at it's best. No rollercoaster of emotions, no rapes or dispicable acts, just some wonderful dialogue and romance. No, the story is not bland! Its funny and cute, but the ending? Wow! What the hero says to the heroine is ~sigh~ so touching and its not only one sentence long -you don't feel cheated.

James Sidwell, Marquis of Riverdale, agrees to pose as his Aunt's new Estate Manager in hopes of finding out who is blackmailing her. His first suspect is his Aunt's companion, Miss Elizabeth Hotchkiss. Elizabeth is raising her siblings and running out of money. Desperate to find a rich husband, she picks up a book called "How to Marry a Marquis". Wanting to try the techniques covered in the book, Elizabeth decides to try her new knowledge on the new Estate Manager since there is no Marquis in sight. When James discovers her plan to marry a titled gentleman, he decides that he will help her on her quest to find a rich husband.

This is a cute historical romance with fun dialogue. I enjoyed both James and Elizabeth, along with Aunt Agatha's cat, Malcolm. There are no surprises in this book, but it is a fun read. My rating: 4 Stars.

An enjoyable, light Regency-era romance. Quinn has a witty voice, and her characters are delightful.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very refreshing; not many would try to keep their family together without a complaint the way Elizabeth did.

This was a very cute historical romance novel, with a touch of reverse "My Fair Lady". A fun weekend read!

I enjoyed this book until about half way through when Caroline and Blake Ravenscroft showed up, and then everything went downhill. I found it unrealistic that Caroline and Elizabeth would form such a quick attachment to each other. I found the Ravenscrofts' interference more annoying than amusing. And I thought that Elizabeth and James weren't as cute or fun once their primary interactions weren't with each other. Instead Quinn seemed to use them to provide the straight lines for the Ravencrofts to make wise-cracks. I would have really enjoyed seeing this story play out without having to make room for characters from a previous book who only detracted from the primary plot.

When James Sidwell, Marquis of Riverdale, offered to help Elizabeth Hotchkiss find herself a husband, he never, dreamed that the only candidate he could propose would be himself...

I have read most of Julia Quinn's books and I prefer her early ones, but this book was not my favorite. The last 50 pages are pure torture. Everyone is acting melodramatic and hurt, yet Quinn is still trying to get as many laughs in as she can. Its just ridiculous. The first 9/10 are great, but I just hated the ending.
