If you are in a marriage that is not abusive but has some problems, then this is an excellent book. You learn key diffences between men and women and how sometimes we misunderstand each other. Also you learn how past experiences affect affect your sensitivity. He also addresses some of the key ways that men hurt women and women hurt men. The intent of this is to help you to see what you are doing, so you can improve yourself. He helps you to work past your own issues, have compassion for yourself and for others. He also includes tips on how to bring your relationship closer, and you don't have to have a single discussion about your problems with your significant other. You work on you. You change the only person you can change, you! This book is not written for women, it is written to appeal to both men, and women.

This is THE BEST book I have ever read (of many in this genre) at explaining what men really think. Every reaction attributed to men, every pain they are imputed to feel, every fear or insecurity they are described as having rang true to my life. Most importantly, the authors also describe men's motivations: the women in our lives give them meaning. Women - never doubt this truth. If you understand it, you will stop misinterpreting your men's behavior.
