A great read from a real authority (and one who has battled with diets). Very inspirational. I loved reading this book.

Dana Carpender explains several different ways to cut carbs, by mixing and matching different plans to come up with a low carb diet customized especially for you. She gives the low-down on how and why low carbing works, medical research information, and how she lost her excess weight and kept it off.

A detailed overview of low-carb diets, what worked for the author and how one can implement a 'good carb' diet program.

A very good insight into the failure of low fat diets to improve health and lose weight. In addition it is a good introduction to the art of the low carb lifestyle.

The author is not a physician, dietician or nurse. Carpender, who admits to drinking heavily (twice the daily limit recommened by the AMA), is not a credible or worthy role model for healthy weight loss. Go to your physician, pay the $20 copay and discuss your health with him/her...and stop buying diet books written by self-appointed 'experts!'
