I found this book totally informative. I now have a far better idea of how doctors get to a diagnosis and what goes into their thoughts.

I've also learned that we should never totally rely on their opinions about the findings on our x-rays, CT scans, etc. Whenever the test results are given to several specialists the findings are frequently different from one another. One might feel the results are negative and another might have spotted a small cancer. Apparently this is quite common. I found this scary. It makes me think that we might need to request a reading by more than one person.

I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants a better understanding of their health. It is written in plain language, totally easy to understand. It also goes into detail about how a doctor feels when his own health is in question. It might surprise you.

Everything written by Dr.Groopman is excellent reading.
