The moral philosophy of death with the mechanics of dying . . . author Sherwin Nuland brings us, and keeps us, with the reality that we all have a limited time here on earth and death in a myraid of forms follows. How we handle death, and how we chose to go on, can make or break us.
An excellent read, even thogh it is a subject none likes to think of.
For some of us it can help to prepare for the near future.

Beautifully written, thought provoking. I dreaded the subject matter but once I began, I couldn't put it down.

Very well written and informative, but may not be for the faint of heart. Much on the physiological processes of dying and what the body goes thru, but also written with heart and compassion of a surgeon and shares a personal story of loss.
I've read it about half way but had to put it away. i plan to finish reading soon. vERY INTERESTING MATERIAL. VERY DARK AND DEEP.
An excellent book for anyone interested in the minute details of the process of death. A book that lends itself to be read many times to be able to absorb all the information and perspectives provided.
Very informative book on how we die. I thought this book would be depressing, but I learned alot and appreciated the personal stories of Dr. Nuland's patients.
