Kyle Winthrop was Time Zone Highs star quarterback until a knee injury permanently benched him. Bolita Vine (Bo) is something of a social misfit. They dont exactly run in the same circles. Then Bo decided its time for a change. She loses weight, puts on a little makeup, and even starts talking to people. Pretty soon she's not such a misfit. She even has Kyle's attention, at least as a friend. But now shes decided to take their relationship a step further. Is there really something between them? Or is Bo living in a dream world?
Interesting book. While it is not my favorite, it is certainly a good book.
I picked this book up because the cover was cute and it was out on a table for free. To my shock, it actually had some substance to it. Not earth-shaking, not a keeper; but it was worth the fifteen minutes or so it took me to get from cover to cover.
I did want to shake Bo when she forced a certain issue later in the book... I know it's all the rage these days for girls to make the first move, but IDIOTS! If the guy is into you he'll let you know. Make him do the risk-taking. Keep your self-respect and maybe a little of that old-fashioned mystique.
Not anywhere near as shallow, sappy or stupid as I've come to expect from YA school books.

I haven't read this book but it looks so cool! From the cover, I thought it was adult chick lit-but it's chick lit for teens! (it's a Scholastic book).
