I was pleasantly surprised. The book has suspense, paranormal, mystery and romance. It has a little everything in it. A governess is warned not to go to Thorton Wood because she will have a rendezvous with the Prince of Darkness.

I really enjoyed this book. At first, I was a little reluctant because the specifics of the story strayed a little from the traditional Gothic genre, but soon I was so involved in the characters and the plot that I didn't mind one bit. A refreshing and interesting take on the Gothic...I loved it.
