So how good can Sherlock Homes be without Conan Doyle? Being a big Serlock Homes fan, I must admit I was skeptical about this novel, but I'm happy to report that "the games afoot," THE HOUSE OF SILK is a very enjoyable read! The plot has many layers of stories and there is wonderful interaction between the characters. The author Horowitz has captured the "feel" of the original novels. This entertaining mystery is a must read for all Sherlock Homes fans.

I'd be interested to know what someone else thinks about this book. I thought it was great, very Sherlock-ian, for the first 250 pages. then it went into icky. Couldn't have been pirates? No Couldn't have been a plot against the government?. No Couldn't have been a political kidnapping? No Without giving anything away, I can say that I was really disappointed.
