What is it like to grow up in a home where there is no one you can trust, no one to witness the emotional and psychological cruelty that takes place behid closed doors. Patti Davis daughter of President Ronald Regan and Nancy has written a shocking, disturbing and ultimately triumphant novel of a woman coming to terms with her debilitating childhood in a highly sucessful but destructive family

Carla Lawton grows up in a house where there is no one you can trust, no one to witness the cruely that goes on behind closed doors. Living in the shadow of her older sister, who died as an infant, and her younger sister, Lily, who was the perfect parent pleaser, Carla tells of her life and her struggle to find the love and acceptance that she needs.

Not a "pretty" story, but an interesting one, nevertheless.

Sidenote - book was written by Patti Davis, daughter of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. After hearing stories of how cold Mrs. Reagan could be, it made me wonder if any of this could be autobiographical!
