Julia Reed traveled to and from many cities as a journalist & reporter for 15 yrs. before returning to her hometown of New Orleans. She married, bought a home, and along with her husband, began the huge task of renovating their dream home.
When their home was nearly finished, Hurricane Katrina brought it's devastation to New Orleans. Reed captures many events of Katrina, the people of New Orleans, how their lives were effected. Eateries, The National Guard, other establishments, the lootings, The worries of people & their homes, hers included, are written about. Many other happenings are also written about in Reed's colorful writing. A great story, well-written.
