What a lovely story. This is the true story about the lives of this author and her family while living on a beautiful bay on the west coast of Corfu, Greece. Women did the heavy lifting, the architect was local and the house of the Tennant's was transformed into a structure of pure art.
The author has a magical way with words that kept me turning the pages. A slab of local bread spread with honey so rich and gold the bees must have swarmed from Mount Olympus. And breakfast was figs picked behind the house" painted a picture of life quite serene. But this author also gives us the ugly. The past with the second world war.
Although this story is beautiful. I think what I enjoyed above all else is the way this author has with her soft mesmerizing flow of words. I will search for more from Ms. Tennant for I really did enjoy her offerings to her readers.
