What a heart-warming and enjoyable book about an inspiring Mennonite doctor who practiced for 36 years among the Amish in Ohio. If you are interested in the Amish, this is a must read. If you are looking for a book about a selfless man who practiced medicine "the old fashioned way" with caring and compassion, and housecalls at all hours of the day and night, this is a must read! Amusing and heart-wrenching anecdotes fill the book and the pages fly beneath your fingers as you read, it is very compelling. You would have to have a heart of stone to not be moved by this book. Highly recommended!

This is a great book,It's one of those books you can't put down!We need alot more Drs like this man he really cared about people and gave them the best treatment he could.

This was truly a good book, but parts of it are pretty graphic in description of the country doctor's patients and their ailments. This is a book set in Amish country.

I loved this book. It is a great story of a doctor who worked with Amish and non-Amish people in Ohio. It is a story that has both wonderful and heartwrenching moments. All and all a great book.

I have really enjoyed this book. Having read many books about the Amish, this is a whole new twist on some of the stories. Actually makes you cringe and laugh out loud the next page.
