Author: Julia Harper
For four years, play-by-the-rules bank teller Turner Hastings has brooded over her uncle's wrongful imprisonment. But when two bumbling crooks stumble into her branch (barely disguised in Yoda and Sponge Bob masks) and hold up the place, she sees a chance to do something she's never thought possible: get revenge. She takes advantage of the melee...  more »

I really enjoyed this book, though the start was a little slow to me. Our couple gets to know each other through multiple cell phone conversations, and it's surprising how well that builds their bond and sexual tension. A few chapters are devoted to two inbred (seriously) bankrobbers, which will put off some readers as they're pretty disgusting. All in all, this is a fun, fast read with great humor and sizzling love scenes. I really enjoyed our librarian-turned-vigilante heroine (whose devotion to her late uncle was amazing) and the down-to-earth FBI agent who has to juggle a case, his attraction to the fugitive he must hunt down and also rekindling his relationship with his estranged teenage daughter. This book has humor, action, mystery a great hero and a wonderful, HOT romance. I still enjoy her historicals under "Elizabeth Hoyt" more, but this book is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the genre.

I skipped over the very long chapters with the inept bank robbers, I don't think they added anything to the story but the rest of the book was terrific! Some of the phone conversations actually made me laugh out loud and the exhanges between John and Turner. BTW this author also writes as Elizabeth Hoyt.

Good story. I loved how most of their dialogue occurs thru the telephone.

Enjoyed the book very much, especially enjoyed the troubles that the wacky criminals got into. The main characters were interesting and my rating in my personal list of books was "Very Good!".

This starts out quickly and really grabs you. I found it weird that FBI special agent John MacKinnon got turned on by watching a survelliance video of Turner Hastings rob a safety deposit box. She's a librarian who also works as a bank teller so you can imagine what she looked like. This sparked an immediate interest in Turner. During the investigation, John found her cell phone number and began calling just to talk. The phone seduction was different and unique and on both sides. Turner loved his voice and the fact that he cared about her. John liked Turner's husky voice and her determination to do what she needed to do in order to bring Calvin to justice.

The characters were great. Even with robbing a bank, Turner was just your average person with a complicated life. She put her life on hold for four years to enaact vengeance on the man who ruined her uncle. John was as different as can be of how you'd expect an FBI agent to behave.

The story line was good but I could have done without the porn!
