This had some cute moments, but I had much higher hopes for it. It really lost me at the end when everything resolved itself, but the none of the resolution came about because of the main character's actions. The only thing she does is decide to grow up. Just like that. "I guess I'll grow up now." The reason for this transformation? Being present at the birth of her friend's child. (again something she had no part in.) Then her father is pardoned from his prison term by his buddy the governor and can pay for her son's college education (which has been her main source of angst throughout the book) which the son suddenly no longer even needs because "the most famous living artist," completely without anyone even asking, has offered to mentor the boy's art career. The MC decides she will accept the suite of the teacher who has been pursuing her (read laying down like a welcome mat) all through the book and now she's set for her Happily Ever After. Except she hasn't earned a HEA and neither has the author.
