This is the apparent end of a trilogy about Thorn St. Croix. A rogue mage from the New Orleans Enclave.
These are three extremely tight and interesting books. This book in particular I found myself carrying everywhere I went because I really did not want to put it down. The universe and backstory are extremely compelling.
Basically a hundred years ago God and His Angels showed up on Earth and brought about the Apocalypse. Six billion people were killed in the efforts to bring the Earth in line with God's Will. Then the generation of children who were born right afterwards were found to be different. They were mages.
If you like Kim Harrison, or Laurell Hamilton or any kind of Urban Fantasy this is the book series for you. But make sure you read them in order or you won't be able to make sense of it.
I loved these books so much they are keepers. The first one is slowish while it introduces you to the universe, the second one picks up steam, then this one won't let you go.
Really great stuff. Can't wait to read the next series by Faith Hunter.
Five out of five stars!

This book was captivating and as in all good stories this 3rd book of the trilogy was not stop thrilling. I did not want this series to end and hope that Faith Hunter will write sequels beyond the trilogy. I want to know more of Thad, Lucas, Eli, Ciana, and Audric. Where do they go from here. I feel this way about all of Faith Hunter's worlds. It is worth reading Minion and Seraphs as prelude to Host.
