First in the Crochet Mystery series. I enjoyed reading about Molly and the ladies in the crochet group, even though they aren't anything like my local group. I didn't really like Barry and found him to be way too pushy. I liked Mason better, but who knows if she'll end up with either guy? Just something to watch for in later books. We made the pound cake recipe from the story and it was a little dry but good.

While cozy mysteries aren't my standard reading material, I do occasionally find them interesting enough. This book goes beyond that, I couldn't put it down - unless it was to crochet. The story is fun, the characters are well developed and the crochet is well integrated.
The book includes a pattern and recipe - I haven't yet worked up the pattern but it is easy to read and follow.
This book definitely put me in the mind set to crochet, I was able to crank out a hat while alternating with reading. When reading I would feel the need to crochet and while crocheting I would long to be reading.
I would recommend this book to everyone, but especially if you love to crochet or like the cozy mysteries.
I am anxious to read the author's other books.

I really enjoyed this book. This was a nice read and enjoyed the crochet club and that they did charity work. I found the characters fun except for L.S. (Lawrence). I recommend this book. There is a crochet pattern, I am going to try. The washcloth is made differently then the one I make. Looking forward to more in this series.

This story was so true to my life it was amazing. I hadn't read anything by the author before this but this was a very interesting story and I really enjoyed reading it.

Loved. Loved. Loved this book. I read it in under a week. Since I crochet, the feel of this book completely warmed my heart. I felt myself relaxing as I read about the heroine relaxing while learning to crochet. And there's a bonus recipe and crochet pattern at the back of the book. This book was a pleasure to read. It was a true mystery. I was surprised at the ending. A wonderful respite in a stressful week.

I've only ever read one book like this - I suppose "cozy" mystery is the phrase. The other one had been OK, so I wasn't expecting much more than that. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked this one. Even laughed out loud in a few parts. Also, as an ex knitter and avid crocheter, I found I could relate to much of the things these characters ran into when dealing with crochet. Also, the mystery was pretty well done. I didn't guess who the murder was until a few pages before the main character realized.
I'd read more from this series, for sure. In fact, I just ordered the second book in the series!
The only minus, for me, was the crochet pattern included. I didn't make it ... but, just looking at the pattern, it seemed as if was just a large granny square. Maybe it looks more interesting than it sounds.

Just because you literally trip over a dead body, doesn't mean that you are the killer. Or so goes the explanation that Molly Pink is trying to make clear to the officers who find her holding crochet hooks and peering into the lifeless body of Ellen Sheridan.
So, yeah, maybe once upon a time there were hard feeling between the two, but Molly has moved on to be the events coordinator of a small bookstore and her personal life is picking up a bit, but come one, one dead body doesn't make you a murderer. Besides, she has more important things to worry about. For instance, there is that afghan that needs to be quilted for the Hearts and Barks charity event.

I love this book. I am a crocheter and really like the pattern at the end of the book. This looks like it is going to be a really fun series to read. I have already read the second book and can't wait for the third one to become available.

Well written, fast moving first mystery. Charcters are interesting and well developed. Many surprises as the plot moves along.

This is looking like a fun new series. I am a crocheter so I can relate to all the crochet jokes, and I like the quirky female sleuth! Another winner for cozy mystery lovers!
A great read! I didn't want to put it down! Not only do I love to crochet, I am a snob about knitting, and apparently, Ms. Hechtman prefers crochet as I do.

I wanted to like this one, but I found myself skimming the last several chapters in order to finish. I found the almost all the characters lacking ...
love this series...a great cozy style mystery with humor
I really enjoyed this first book in the new series. It moved right along, had several sub plots and the author seemed to make it easy to get accustomed to the characters. I'm in the process of reading the second book and have the third on my wish list.

Enjoyed the first book in this new series. Fun characters, hope they develop nicely.
This was a light fun read, but I really couldn't get into the main character. Her actions were beyond belief the much of the time,since no normal person would act in this manner. I just couldn't feel any sympathy for the characters or remorse for the murdered. Perhaps this was because there was no previous introduction to the deceased and we don't know enough about them to care.
On the plus side it was nice to read a mystery where you don't figure out who did it right from the beginning. The book while I found it slow at the beginning got better toward the end and it had a wonderfully funny ending. I know this is her first book and as such it is a very good start. I am sure they will do nothing but improve.
