I thoroughly enjoyed this book and wish there were more to read like it. Some of it was a little hard to believe as really autobiographic as it seemed too difficult to succeed. A good book for anyone interested in the "simple" life out in the wilderness! Frank tales of troubles and rewards, well written. Would have liked more pictures to help me believe some of the struggles with their road and the area.
I'm half way through and have decided I don't want to read any more about homesteading, tho I enjoy Jane Kirkpatrick's writing in general, this subject matter didn't gra bme .
