A surprisingly bad book by JoAnn Ross. I usually enjoy her stories but this one didn't seem to go anywhere.
Jack was too perfect and just completely unbelievable. Everyone was so hard on Raine for being resentful towards her mother when I felt like she had every right to be. The women stole her childhood basically. Plus Raine's character was just blah. It's a shock to me since I really liked Raine in Savannah's story but she was boring and annoying here. There was no real conflict to their story. I kept wanting to read more about everyone else, even the three foster girls.
I kind of wished Ross developed the romance between Lilith and Cooper more. They were really interesting characters and their relationship was fascinating. Instead, they just end up together and married. You never know what happened in between.
Not worth the read. I think I only survived to the end of the book because I did a lot of skim reading.
