going home to the death of her father, Micah, is faced with everything she left behind years ago...
I'm a big fan of Siddons - and this is one of the best I've read. The characters are fully developed and complex.A really rich book.
A compelling character driven story of a middle-aged women from NYC returning to her southern Georgia to care for her dying father, who had forced her away 20 years before.
This was a wonderful book...one that I didn't want to end! It delves into the past and present of the main character in a way that you really know her and want her to overcome the scars of her past. I plan to read other books by this author!
Good book to snuggle up with. Interesting story.
Ann Rivers Siddons is the best Southern writer there is. She writes with amazing beauty and clarity. You'll be sad to finish this one.

I have read this book a couple of times throughout the years and enjoyed it each time.

This book is well written in how it moves back and forth from the history of what has happening to what is happening in the present.

Couldn't get into it. I usually enjoy Siddons' books, but this one was tough to handle.
One of the best books I've read in a long time, and the first Anne Rivers Siddons books. I will be looking for other books by her.
