This is all about the small village life of Mitford and the rector who keeps an eye over the Episcopalian church there. A real good read and quite enticing. I am excited about reading the next in the series.

Enter the world of Mitford, and you won't want to leave. But Father Tim, the local rector, is suddenly not so sure. A dog the size of Buick follows him home and won't go away. A hostile boy is left in his care. His attractive new neighbor wears a path to his door, sitrring feelings he hasn't felt in years...

This is the first book in the Mitford series and they are all well writen and extremely funny.

I suppose this is a much-reviewed book wherever you go on the internet, but will chime in with my opinion. This book is like wrapping up in your favorite blanket and sitting by the fireplace with a cup of tea- comfortable and comforting, a lovely lazy read of small town life through the eyes of a mini-philosopher.

This book is in keeping with other Karon books, and others in this genre. It portrays a fictionalized and sometimes imaginary view of a long-gone age.

This started me on reading the whole series. I'm in book 4 now and love the village community. It is a calmer time and yet there are struggles. Recommend.
