#4 Roger the Chapman historical mystery in which Roger gets involved in investigating the deaths of two young children that were ruled to be death by a wandering band of vicious outlaws. But those close to the family in question aren't so sure, and Roger's curiosity along with his budding interest in the children's former nurse leads him down a dangerous path of investigation. Once again, I really enjoyed the "voice" of Roger, and the book seemed to go by much too quickly. I did figure out the mystery well in advance, though. Looking forward to the next in series.

Another excellent, but very involved, mystery starring Roger the Chapman. While one evil criminal is apparent to the reader toward the end of the book, the solution is not yet complete, although a hint is given before Roger reveals all.

And if my mind had not been asleep while my eyes were reading, I may have realized, from several hints given throughout the book, just how the evidence of murder was removed from the crime scene.

You can't win them all.
