I've been a fan of Sanford since the early years, when he was writing as John Camp. His characters are likable, the stories enjoyable, and the plots are logical. In this tale, people who are pilgrims, in town to see the appearance of the virgin, are being shot by a sniper. The other killings occur. The main character, Virgil Flowers, has to track the killer before they get away. An enjoyable read.
One of his best books..Lots of action and interesting characters.Maybe too many pot pies! Wheatfield Minnesota could use a few more eating spots. Probably the most humorous book of his that I've read and I've read most of them. It's make a great movie!
