But a Stranger, Nick Taggart, is too much of a distraction to be believed! Soon she has to make a choice from her long time dream and the chance of real love.
Another well written story by Deveraux.

Holly's crush on the next door neighbor's blinds her to the attractions of other men, to the point that she persuades her family to buy the vacation home where she met him. As an adult, she begins to see the teenage crush for what it was, especially while in the company of Nick Taggert, who makes her laugh. Good read.

Holly has a romantic notion of a boy that she met summers ago when she was a teen. She is more interested in the old plantation that his family has and wants to restore it. But she meets a man that she thinks is the gardener who blows all of her plans.
This was interesting as the characters were more on a level playing field and contemporaries. A nice romantic book with some suspense thrown in.

Fun holiday read that if you are a fan of the Taggert clan will immensely enjoy. Another Taggert, Nick- a mysterious stranger who makes the heroine laugh and turns her world upside down. But can she really find true love with "hired hand" someone who caretakes her family home?

Loved it--kept my interest the entire time. Jude Deveraux has a way of pulling you into the story so that you just can't put the book down. Holly has some interesting characters, and has a good ending.

Holly is an heiress from a very wealthy family. When she is thirteen years old, she falls in love with Lorrie, a sixteen year old from an old family. They spend the summer together and she never has gotten over him. When Holly grows up and is planning on seeing Lorrie again, she runs into Nick Taggert. She has a passionate affair with Nick, but Holly hopes to end it because Nick is not "marriage material" because, she thinks he's just an average working man and not someone suitable for someone like her. Yes, she is a bit of a snob, but a lovable snob. There is also a conspiracy brewing to murder Holly for her millions. Who should she trust? Lorrie or Nick?
A quick and enjoyable read!

Interesting story. Rich girl meets guy who presents himself as riff-raff. Sparks fly..a whole lot of chemistry happening. Murder and treasure hunts just to add more to the story. I don't want to give the story a way. Quick, fun read.

Now a beautiful rich woman Hollys vocation brings her back to Edenton, North Carolina, the site of her first summer love when she was thirteen and where she discovered her lifes ambition. She reconnects with Bell Chere the plantation house which is much in need of repair and Lorrie Beaumont her first serious love who inherited the Revolutionary-period estate. Before she actually gets to Belle Chere or Lorrie, her perfectly planned life takes a side track crossing paths with the attractive and sexy Nick Taggert who comes with secrets of his own. The story moves along well with just enough intrigue and romance to keep you guessing what will happen next.

She dreams of working her way into his heart while restoring his historic estate. Nick Taggert, a stranger, turns her life upside down. See which man she chooses.

It was about this couple that didn't want each other to know that they were both from families. The gal in the story was very into old houses and restorations and she had fallen in love with this other boy when she was a teen because she really liked his mansion, but come to find out he really had no money and she ended up falling for another guy who had money but pretended that he didn't so that she would like him for himself and not for his money.

Every woman's dream to have two great men trying to win her love. Of course one is the prince and one is the pauper or so she thinks. Will she marry for love or for riches? I say marry for the riches because she does like him a lot, but what is he trying to hide from her and what is the pauper trying to hide from her?

Holly fell in love with Lorrie and his plantation house when she was 13. Now an adult and an heiress, she's learned of his divorce and has come back to try to win him. Her intrepid ways around abandoned old homesteads brings Nick in her life, however, who appears to be a good ole boy, definitely beneather her notice.

This book had many things that interested me -- I too love old houses and have done some renovation. But the author tries to make Holly very likeable despite the entire story hinging around her very unpleasant snobbishness.
