Holly's crush on the next door neighbor's blinds her to the attractions of other men, to the point that she persuades her family to buy the vacation home where she met him. As an adult, she begins to see the teenage crush for what it was, especially while in the company of Nick Taggert, who makes her laugh. Good read.

Jude Deveraux is always a very good read.

Holly has a romantic notion of a boy that she met summers ago when she was a teen. She is more interested in the old plantation that his family has and wants to restore it. But she meets a man that she thinks is the gardener who blows all of her plans.
This was interesting as the characters were more on a level playing field and contemporaries. A nice romantic book with some suspense thrown in.

Loved it--kept my interest the entire time. Jude Deveraux has a way of pulling you into the story so that you just can't put the book down. Holly has some interesting characters, and has a good ending.
Holly is an heiress from a very wealthy family. When she is thirteen years old, she falls in love with Lorrie, a sixteen year old from an old family. They spend the summer together and she never has gotten over him. When Holly grows up and is planning on seeing Lorrie again, she runs into Nick Taggert. She has a passionate affair with Nick, but Holly hopes to end it because Nick is not "marriage material" because, she thinks he's just an average working man and not someone suitable for someone like her. Yes, she is a bit of a snob, but a lovable snob. There is also a conspiracy brewing to murder Holly for her millions. Who should she trust? Lorrie or Nick?
A quick and enjoyable read!

Interesting story. Rich girl meets guy who presents himself as riff-raff. Sparks fly..a whole lot of chemistry happening. Murder and treasure hunts just to add more to the story. I don't want to give the story a way. Quick, fun read.

I loved reading this book, it's playful and engaging. Fun story and a good romance.
Excellent Reading. I really liked the repeat characters from the Forever Trilogy. Easy reading.
This book mixes romance and mystery.
Another cute story from Jude Deveraux!
Now a beautiful rich woman Hollys vocation brings her back to Edenton, North Carolina, the site of her first summer love when she was thirteen and where she discovered her lifes ambition. She reconnects with Bell Chere the plantation house which is much in need of repair and Lorrie Beaumont her first serious love who inherited the Revolutionary-period estate. Before she actually gets to Belle Chere or Lorrie, her perfectly planned life takes a side track crossing paths with the attractive and sexy Nick Taggert who comes with secrets of his own. The story moves along well with just enough intrigue and romance to keep you guessing what will happen next.
A love story for all seasons
Love all her books. This is another great one.
A sweet, delightful read.
This really is a paperback about a young woman seeking to reunite with a love from a long-ago summer, but finds astonishing truths and hidden dangers along the way.
Will Holly be seduced by Lorrie's wealth and privilege or will she choose the simple gift of love that Nick has offered her? The answer is unveiled on a starry Christmas night, when passion, hate and greed collide to reveal bitter truths that will forever change the course of Holly's charmed life.
This was a great read with twists and turns.

Excellent Book - about a young girl's first love and the chance to rekindle that love.... but enter Mr. Right????
A cute, light romance. Not one of Deveraux's best, but enjoyable.
Holly is by far my favorite Jude Deveraux read. I loved everything about it and i'm not a real big romance fan.
Great story - liked it alot although Holly is a bit dense if you ask me!
Very good read. Some mystery, love, lust, romance and a bit of Chrismas love.
This is a good quick read. A good book!
Really great book, good ending. Shows Deveraux's knowledge of house restoration.
Comedy and Tragedy. Contemporary Christmas story of Holly & Nick.
Murder and family betrayal.... with a wicked sister like Taylor, who needs enemies ? Highly recommended, like an evergreen, good anytime of the year !

For a Christmas-release book, this isn't the usual fare. A lot of dark moments, but a wonderful read that you won't want to put down.
This is a mystery book not a christmas tale. I enjoyed reading it and would reccomend it to you.
Very Good book.
A quick Jude Deveraux read. I read it in one day or so.
Hollander Latham's parents purchase the home of her dreams. Holly is intent on reuniting with her neighbor and love from the past Laurence Beaumont. She dreams of working her way into his heart while restoring his historic estate. Nick Taggert, a stranger, turns her life upside down. See which man she chooses.

This was a very good book and I too couldn't put the book down.
This is a modern day love story with one deadly twist to add suspence. It has all of the elements of a typical Jude Deveraux novel. It is light, entertaining, reading.
It was about this couple that didn't want each other to know that they were both from families. The gal in the story was very into old houses and restorations and she had fallen in love with this other boy when she was a teen because she really liked his mansion, but come to find out he really had no money and she ended up falling for another guy who had money but pretended that he didn't so that she would like him for himself and not for his money.
Every woman's dream to have two great men trying to win her love. Of course one is the prince and one is the pauper or so she thinks. Will she marry for love or for riches? I say marry for the riches because she does like him a lot, but what is he trying to hide from her and what is the pauper trying to hide from her?
Holly fell in love with Lorrie and his plantation house when she was 13. Now an adult and an heiress, she's learned of his divorce and has come back to try to win him. Her intrepid ways around abandoned old homesteads brings Nick in her life, however, who appears to be a good ole boy, definitely beneather her notice.
This book had many things that interested me -- I too love old houses and have done some renovation. But the author tries to make Holly very likeable despite the entire story hinging around her very unpleasant snobbishness.

Holly must choose between fortune and privilege and a simple gift of love.
Another must read book from Jude Deveraux. A young successfull architect, Holly Latham's parents purchase a beautiful Noth Caolina plantation where Holly spent the summer of her 13th birthday. There's lot's of mystery and romance in this one.
Romance with a dash of mystery and threat.
A good, quick read, though a little predictable.
This is a quick modern romance by popular author Jude Deveraux.
Interesting love story with a mystery wrapped in it.
Holly can't believe her good fortune.
After endless calls,letters,e-mails, and Promises, she finally persuaded her parents to buy "Spring Hill Plantation".
Romance, love, full of dazzling intrigue.

Now a successful architect, Holly is intent on reuniting with Spring Hill's neighbor and her love from that long ago summer.
