Mid 1800's. True story of Marie Dorion Toupon, French-Indian-English wife and mother, her life, and her family's adjustment to changing mores and culture as more white settlers stream into the northwest.
This was an interesting historical novel based on fact - the 3rd book in a series so be sure to read the other two first. She was quite a woman to go through what she experienced but this book definitely shows the "mothering" instinct she had. Enjoy!
