Another good book by Fern Michaels. Kate Starr is the perfect wife the perfect mother and housekeeper. Soon after her husband Patrick departs for a tour of duty in Vietnam he is listed as missing. Suddenly Kate must raise her daughters by herself, learn how to earn a living and wait for news of her husband. Then some twenty years later after she has raised her daughters and re educated herself and started a business things start to change for her........

It is 1970 and Kate Starr is the perfect wife, the perfect mother, and the perfect housekeeper. But soon after her husband Patrick departs for a tour of duty in Vietnam, he is listed as MIA. Suddenly, Kate must raise their two daughters by herself, learn how to earn a living, and struggle with the U.S. government to get news of her husband. It is ultimately the government's callousness that turns Kate into an activist, determined to be heard. It is the beginning of a new Kate Starr. Twenty years later, she has educated herself and her daughters, started a successful business...and finally found love again, the fulfilling love of a passionate woman...

Wonderful book. I love all of Fern Michaels books. She has a special way of telling a story so you believe your there. 1-5 I give this book a 5.
Michaels manages to keep the sappy quotient down to a minimum in this story of a young woman whose jet-pilot husband is lost over Vietnam, throwing her life and the lives of her young children into limbo.
Kate Starr is a perfect wife and mother. Her husband is in Vietnam; hes listed as MIA. She struggles with the US government to get news of her husband.
If you are a fan of Fern Michaels this is a must read.
Fern Michaels at her best.
A woman's struggle to survive emotionally as well as physically a nd financially when she learns her husband is MIA during the Vietnam war... She is also a mother and must raise two daughters... she continues to love her husband as the years roll by... but after 20 years Kate realizes that it is time for her to move on... This was a wonderful book to read!
Trancelike, she moved toward him. When she was standing nect to hims, she realized how tall he was, towering ove rher so she had to tilt her chin with the tips of his fingers so he could look into her eyes. He was going to kiss her,and she didn't want to stop him.
Her eyes cloes of their own accord as she waited. His lips, when they touched hers, were soft, giving as well as taking, persuading her gently to respond. She could feel his arms cradle her against him. He felt strong, and she felt safe and natural in his embrace. His fingers touching her face were tender, trailing whispery shadows over her cheekbones. Having him kiss her felt like the most natural thing in the world. It was a kiss.
A tender gesture, tempting an answer but demanding none.

Haven't read this one. Wound up with duplicates. I like all Fern Michaels books though. This one is great, I'm sure.
Ready to remember the Vietnam war, here is a fantastic novel which reminds us about the men who served. I cried. The best of the of Fern Michael.
