On the whole, I enjoyed this book. His stream-of-consciousness ramblings were sometimes hard to follow. Also, throughout the entire book he laments about Mexico, and that is where he is headed. But he never talks about when/if he ever got there! I know, the book is titled"...Thoughts on Trains and Tramping..." but I wanted more. At the very end, when you hope he will talk about how he finally made it to Mexico and what it was like, he discusses the history of tramps/hobos. So I find that interesting but it just seemed to be thrown in at the end. It just didn't make sense as far as flow. That said, I would like to read more from him, something that flowed better and didn't try so hard at being a rambling mess.
