Hissy Fit will actually be an excellent read for those who DON'T prefer a lot of romance in their novels.

There was much to enjoy in this book; Keely is lead character who is smart and good at her job, doesn't take any crap from the man who does her wrong (not wishy washy) and doesn't let others bully her. I really appreciated that Mary Kay Andrews wrote a character that I really liked.

The book focuses on the restoration of an old plantation home which I think many readers would enjoy. But I found myself skimming the last fourth portion of the book once I realized there would be no development in the romantic relationship between Keeley and Will. Their romance consisted of three pages although I will admit it was a sweet three pages.

Anyway, if you are a reader of straight up romance novels I would not recommend Hissy Fit. But for you other readers, I think it would be a great novel.

I dont like to read yearning, burning romances. This is NOT one of those. The back cover has a review that accurately tells it all,"the right combination of romance, mystery, and sharp funny writing." Not one of those themed mysteries either. (I do like those). It is a book with a blend of reality that is refreshing and not painted on screwball dialogue or situations. But you always got to have a dog and a gay best friend, too. The characters are memorable and distinct from each other. Add what I have to say with some of the other summaries and I think you will, get the idea that this book is worth reading.

A good read, especially if you know about antiques and decorating, and even if you aren'tt, it's still fun to read and figure out what things really are.

I listened to this book in the car during my commute to work. What a fun read, I couldn't wait to get in the car in the morning & I couldn't wait to head home...and I stayed off the phone & didn't do my customary 'returning of the personal calls' during the commute either. I loved this book from the start. I haven't read Andrews before and now I will order her other books for my beach vacations or when I'm in a mood to listen to something fun & entertaining. I am southern, currently living in Atlanta and TOTALLY identify with the story. I KNOW these women. I liked the little side tracks in the plot. I don't care for stories that are so focused that there are no complications. I loved that I felt Rhett Butler would show up at any moment. It is a typical beach read for me - lots of characters that I could see in my mind. The only character I had a problem with was the Atlanta lawyer - she was supposedly bright but her dialogue was stilted and vapid. I just am not sure any female big city lawyer in a big city firm is going to be that shallow. BUT, other than that, I loved reading this book and I will read her others.

This was one of the funniest books I had read in a long time. One of the authors best.
Small town people in messy life situations, each following their own drummer. Anyone who grew up in a small southern or midwest town will recognize people from their past. Loved it.

Mary Kay Andrews is yet to let me down. This is a real pager turner. Easy, light and laugh out loud. You couldn't ask for more from a book.

When interior decorator Keeley Murdock catches her groom-to-be shtupping the maid of honor at the rehearsal dinner, she throws the hissy-fit of the title, then goes on to salvage her career, return a crumbling plantation house to its former glory, and solve the 25-year-old mystery of her mother's disappearance. Nobody writes a Woman Done Wrong like Andrews.

This is a fun, humorous, and entertaining book. I enjoyed myself while reading it, and found many laugh-out-loud moments. There were several parts that I didn't care for much, but overall it was well worth the time taken to read it.
