Once again M. C. Beaton has created an interesting and fun look into life in the Cotswold village wherein this series is set. It takes a special talent to generate interest in the same characters each book- especially when the main one is particularly flawed. Battling the demons of aging, insecurity, smoking and the fear of being alone, Agatha marches on and somehow makes us care about both her and the mystery that takes place when her latest male target is murdered.
Ms. Beaton is back on her game with Agatha being vindictive, obsessive, and a little sad around the edges. I felt the last two or three were just formulatic but this one is again interesting and above all else fun. Glad both Agatha and Ms. Beaton are back!
