This story is set in Scotland in the early 1200's and is a display of how anger can eat away at a person and cause them to act in ways that are not normal for them. It is also a story of great faith and love.
Tale of two warring Scottish clans. Cameron MacKay steals the daughter of the rival clan leader. He seeks revenge thru Meredith Munro, but will it ultimately cost him his soul? A good read from a good author.
I liked this book more than I thought I would after reading the first few chapters. Samantha James is a favorite of mine, and I was leary after realizing the premis was the typical leader kidnapping an enemy's daughter for revenge and falling in love to end with the two lands reuniting happily ever after...
But.... she pulled it off really well. The characters were interesting and likable. I enjoyed the realtionship between the hero and heroine. And even though the ending was somewhat predictable, I still enjoyed this book.

If you like to read books that are related in order, you will want to start with "His Wicked Ways" and read "His Wicked Promise" second. However they can be read alone.
Both of these books are set in Medieval Scotland, one the Highlands and one the Lowlands. Cameron's arrogance in this book will frustrate you at times, but you will also feel for all of his character's losses. Meredith's character grows from someone who is timid into someone who stands up for herself.

One of my first reads from this author now I am reading all her books. I LOVED this book. Even made me cry! Very touching and good read :)
Another good book by Samantha James! Was a quick read with a revenge turned to love theme.
I dont remember why I picked up this book. Maybe because it takes place in the Highlands, but if youre looking for a Scottish book, I wouldnt look to much to this one for the Scottish experience, in that it was lacking. This also has a Enemy and captive story, which I dont really care for (Stockholm Syndrome, ya know?) With that said, this wasnt a terrible story, I sped through it and liked most of it, some parts were very sweet, but I found it a very average read, not memorable. Cameron kidnaps the child of his enemy for killing his family, she falls in love with him, they have a kid, the feud ends, HEA.
For a kick butt enemy story, pick up Honors Splendour by Julie Garwood, Intimate Enemies by Shana Abe or Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught. Those three, none can compare!

I love this book. I like all the stuff that Samantha writes.
This book is exceptional! The main character is strong and impressive. This is a well woven tale! Way to go Samantha James!
Great love story set in Scotland.
I loved this book!

Catches the attention from the first paragraph...
Really good read!
