Exciting tale, which unfortunately sags a little near the end. I really wanted to throttle the heroine near the end.

Again, another cheesy title. This is the story of the black sheep of the family, Lord Jack Knight. I was really intrigued because usually series of romance books dealing with a family go in order of birth - to hand it to Foley, this series does not do that (Jack is the 2nd eldest, but last book) and I found it very refreshing. However, this particular book was not one of her best. Eden was certainly an interesting character and I could understand what drove Jack, so he was not entirely unsympathetic, but this novel dealt more with the stubbornness and misunderstanding between the characters after they discovered they loved each other. As they each struggled with their feelings and the mystery that drew them together they continually messed things up and if there hadn't been outside forces that forced them to see the errors of their ways, they could have screwed up the rest of their lives. That is probably why I didn't like the book because if they had really loved each other then their stubbornness should not have gotten in the way. There are apparently 3 more in the series (although Foley has them as a separate trilogy) dealing with cousins from India. I will probably read these, but certainly not buy them.

This was my favorite of the Knight series. I enjoyed all of them but the characters and story line were great in this one!

Loved this book! I am a big fan of this author, and this is one of my favorites by her. Her writing is warm and rich. Jack is a delicious hero, complete with flaws. Eden is wonderfully guileless and is perfect for Jack (as he says, she feeds his soul). Couldn't put it down!

I was a little disappointed in a heroine that started out so strong, and became such a pushover by the ton in London. She starts out so outlandish as a bluestocking intelligent type with great fire arm skills, etc to not really have those be part of her in London. It helped with the ending a little, but she disappointed me in this aspect when she started out so strong.

Would have liked a little more inter-family going on with Jack & his brothers/sister.

When I looked for books in a series that have siblings,Gaelen Foley's Knight Miscellany came up. I had already read one in the series and thought it was okay, but nothing special. So I decided to try another that i happened to already have on my shelf.
I'm two-thirds into it and am struggling to finish it.
I had hopes for interaction between siblings only to note that the hero has outcasted himself and the siblings are not a big part of the story.
Hoping the relationship would at least be interesting, I was upset at how long it took the story to even have the hero and heroine meet. Even after some very SLIGHT chemistry at the onset, it took even longer to see any sparks with them together.
I will probably finish the book, but only because I have a hard time leaving things undone, not because the book is pulling for me to finish it.
If you like Foley, you may want to read the books in order. I'm hoping that is the reason I don't like it.
