His Christmas Pleasure was not your typical romance, but I really enjoyed it. Abby was 25, facing spinsterhood, and stuck in the middle of her familys relationship with the ton. Her mother married down, but her father supplies society with funds, so while theyre accepted into society, theyre not necessarily welcome. Unmarried, with the man she loves about to marry someone else, she meets the Baron. He finds her refreshing, and her innocence reminds him clearly of what he lacks, but she sees in him a future built together. Im not normally one for the poor man storyline, but this just flowed so nicely. Their relationship just has that it factor, and their struggle brought some tears to my eyes. The holiday storyline isnt very strong, so it would make a nice year-round read. A great addition to any personal or library collection.

You will be rooting for Abby & Andres once the story starts. Good characters and storyline. I really enjoyed this read , another good one from Cathy Maxwell.

London 1810. Cute story. The heroine starts off a little naive for me as she is hopelessly in love with a character who is wishy washy and underserving. But as that falls through, she flees an arranged marriage (which to me seems a little convenient for a conflict - but none the less)and elopes with Andreas (a previous character from a Maxwell novel). The hero is loveable and drew me to like him. I just wondered at first if the heroine was deserving of him. But, she eventually won me over and it all worked out in the end.
