These women are amazing, surviving with barely having enough to feed her children, let alone clothe and house them. Times were very hard, but they survived through hard work and hard work and hard work.Pay was very low and their husbands and /or fathers worked in the only place that was available for them, the backbreaking work in the underground coal mines where many didnt survive and they were often left with many children, living in shacks with no electricity,no money, and no way to make money. Makes me very appreciative for the life and ease we have today.
