Light but fun. A nice addition to the holiday novelettes "en series" so popular with authors these days.

This is different than the other Hamish Macbeth books in that there is no murder, but it is no less a bunch of puzzles to solve. Fun and uplifting, too.

I have read most of the Hamish MacBeth books and am a big fan. This book was a little different, less violent crime and conflict, but still some mystery and a lot of humor. I found it very charming. A great read (very quick as well) especially around the holidays.

Hamish MacBeth manages to create a Highland Christmas celebration you will never forget. This slim volume contains more Christmas magic than a huge department store, all of it delivered with delightfully understated Highland humor, and (a gift from the author?) decorated with some marvelous illustrations. Looking for a perfect Christmas gift? Put this first on your list, it will suit all ages (and particularly a pet lover).

My first Hamish MacBeth experience and I must say it was a real pleasure to read. The way Hamish uses his contacts in the town to solve his problems are a sight to behold. I'll certainley be trying some other books from the series. A real fun read. JLM

This was an easy, delightful book. As usual, Hamish can be a sweet and charming man but when provoked, he can be nasty also. I'm delighted with this series and the charming enigmatic character of Hamish Macbeth. I recommned.
