This is another great Highlander Book from Hannah Howell. For those who are new to Howell this is a rerelease of Elfking's Lady under a new title.

I loved both characters. It is refreshing to have the male lead (Parlan)admit to himself that the female lead (Aimil) is different from other women and that he has not closed himself off from his feelings. It is even more refreshing that he sees through the nasty former lover.

I found the back and forth between the two very amusing.

This is my 1st time reading anything by this author, & i really liked it! There were quite a few 'laugh out loud' moments, and it was pretty steamy, too!

From the back cover:
The windswept Scottish Highlands hold great beauty, but also great danger. So when Aimil Mengue is abducted by a feuding clan, she is right to fear for her life - and her virtue. For Aimil's keeper us the infamous warrior Parlan MacGuin. Aimil sets out to hate him, but Parlan is more honorable - and infinitely more alluring - than expected. Though bethrothed to another, Aimil cannot deny her startling desire for the man who holds her captive...

Parlan MacGuin knows well his reputation as a fierce warrior; he uses it to claim land and lovers. But beautiful Aimil is a different type of conquest. Now Parlan feels an unfamiliar longing for the woman he keeps at ransom as their forbidden passion threatens to spark an unstoppable blood feud - or forever fill their hearts.

This was a great read. I love Hannah Howell and she definitely doesn't disappoint.

This was an ok book. Not one of her best. I thought the ending drug on and on. Seriously, it could have ended 3 chapters sooner than it did.
