Former dancer Lindy Haggerty delighted readers in her first outing, BACKSTAGE MURDER. Now, the intrepid sleuth is at it again, trying to keep the Jeremy Ashe Dance Company afloat on a Caribbean cruise, while a merderer plots to turn this Love Boat into a deadly voyage.
I ordered and read this book to get me in the mood for my upcoming cruise (nothing like a little murder to get you ready), and it didn't disappoint.
Lindy is a dance rehearsal director who decides to go with the company on thier one time job on a cruise ship, when her husband has to be away on the holidays. The cruise is a 10 day, private affair, costing $10,000.00 per person, so the staff stay on the same floors with, and are expected to intermingle with the guests. Lindy befriends a rock star, and gets into the thick of the murder of a passenger. She can't understand why the murder is being covered up and is determined to find out what happened. Of course, there are plenty of people who had reason to kill this person, so it's easy to get involved with trying to figure out "who done it" yourself. When another murder happens it's double the sluething! A great little cozy and I especially liked the references to cruise ship stuff as I am familiar with it, and could relate to the scenarios.
